ARE YOU OPEN TO THE PUBLIC?

​

Absolutely! Our fully staffed retail showroom location in Waterloo have thousands upon thousands of reclaimed wood components, architectural salvage items and custom furniture reference materials.

While families are welcome, we require children to be supervised as there are unsecured, heavy, and antique items that can pose risks to curious youngsters.

IS THE SHOWROOM ACCESSIBLE?

​

Our 1870's barn conversion has unique challenges in terms of accessibility. Our main showroom level is a single small step which is accessible to most, however our other levels can only be accessed by stairs. Our washrooms are located on our basement level. 

We are very happy to make accommodations to anyone who requires it. We can complete most inquiries by phone and email and can also set up appointment times for bringing items from different levels to view to our main level or outside.

DO YOU BUY MATERIALS FROM THE PUBLIC?

​

We typically derive the majority of our own material from our vertical integration with Kieswetter Demolition. Through their on-going demolition efforts we are kept well-stocked with an ever-growing variety of construction components, lumber, and architectural salvage. 

 

There are however certain things we can never get enough of such as grey exterior barnboard, highly desirable full house sets of doors, or very unique items. If what you have meets that criteria, please feel free to fill out our contact us form and if we're interested, you'll hear from us.

DO YOU MAKE CUTS ON THE SPOT?

​

Yes! We can usually provide simple cross cuts on planks or barnboard and rough chainsaw cuts on timbers for no extra charge during most weekdays between 9-3. Any of the other milling services may require the full 4-6 week wait time depending on current volume of custom orders.

DO YOU CHARGE FOR DESIGN SERVICES?

​

Our design expertise and services are included in our custom quotation process. We can rely on our growing catalogue of past projects or start from scratch on yours. Services include three-dimensional renderings and in store consultations to select appropriate material and finishing options.

DO YOU PROVIDE CUSTOM MILLING SERVICES?

​

Yes we do provide milling services. We are able to crosscut, rip, plane, laminate and sand most of our reclaimed lumber stock and also provide finishing services in Waterloo. 

 

For more complex or larger scale quotations we can require up to a week to quote and formalize that agreement in a custom order form to be signed prior to beginning the project. A 50% deposit is also required and lead time is usually 6 weeks. 

 

ARE YOU PET FRIENDLY?

​

Yes! Our Waterloo showroom is pet-friendly. We ask that pets be leashed and well-behaved in order to not disrupt other customers. Be sure to also visit our neighbour Camellia Bakeshop with your furry friends.

WILL YOU TAKE DOWN MY BARN/BUILDING?

Our sister company Kieswetter Demolition will be able to help you with demolition requests. Please feel free to click the link below to contact their estimation staff.

DO YOU DELIVER?

​

We do offer delivery service and shipping options for large and smaller quantities. For the local smaller scale deliveries we charge a rate of $2.25/km both ways for 1 driver or $3.62/km for a 2 person delivery. There is a minimum delivery charge of $30.

CAN YOU COMPLETE CUSTOM WORK USING MY MATERIAL?

​

There are many unknowns when working with reclaimed wood and we control as much of the process as we can from reclamation through finished product to minimize the risks of damage to our machines and materials not to mention danger to our staff and customers. We do not wish to accept the liability and risks of using customer provided materials.

CAN YOU COLOUR MATCH MY FLOOR OR EXISTING FURNITURE?

​

We offer a handful of Osmo finishes that are tried and true on our variety of reclaimed species and textures and can make recommendations based on your specific project to best complement existing finishes. 

 

If you would like the DIY experience, we carry a wide range of Osmo Natural Wood Oils and finishing applicators for you to complete the finishing yourself.

DO YOU FABRICATE OUTDOOR FURNITURE?

​

Outdoor furniture fabrication can be challenging due to the harsh Ontario weather, thus making it difficult to ensure longevity of our products in outdoor conditions. We cannot guarantee that there won't be significant movement, wear, and frequent maintenance that go along with exterior products. 

If you're after something reclaimed as a statement piece and understand the risks involved, we would be happy to guide you in the right direction. Sealing and frequently maintaining any outdoor wood products with Osmo exterior products such as Exterior One Coat Only or Decking Oil will help mitigate the effects of weather on your project. 

There are certain recommendations depending on the individual product such as powder-coating metal components, using outdoor fasteners, not gluing outdoor table tops, etc. Feel free to contact a sales associates to discuss your project.

WHERE IS YOUR ONLINE INVENTORY?

​

Our general inventory can turn over so quickly it makes keeping an up to date listing impossible. We do have our wall vents and floor grates catalogued here. Feel free to contact us via this form if you have specific items you're searching for.
